Say I love you with an unrepeatable art piece

This artform requires the slowest pace, years of expertise, and is rich with detail.

Each creation is hand-embroidered with care, so no two pieces will ever be the same. Even identical commissions will each have their own flare.

  • I sent a black and white wedding photo to Paper Meets Thread and she brought it to life by embroidering the bouquet and boutonnière in color. The result was stunning and so thoughtful and beautifully done. She kept me updated with progress photos along the way, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend her work!

The most sought-after designs

Hi, I'm Stephanie!

I'm a Dallas-based Mexican artist with an obsession for hand embroidered art.

Embroidery was the only medium I could use during a health crisis that left me bed bound for 4 years. Embroidery allowed me to work 5 minutes at a time putting less pressure on my hands than a pencil and didn't require the clean up that painting does.

Eventually I imagined embroidery on everything and fell in love with adding it to photos and celebrating the people that make my life a story I love.

It is an honor now to work on your photos showcasing your love stories, treasures and joys, helping you celebrate your remarkable life too.

The uniqueness of embroidery on paper

To embroider on paper is to love the juxtaposition of seemingly irreconcilable mediums. Unlike with fabric, on paper every hole made is final.

What is more, tension is crucial in embroidery. So if you pull a tad too tight, the paper rips and the piece is destroyed.

It's an art to marry the two gracefully.

It has to be a slow dance. If you've ever embroidered, you know it's the most time-intensive artform. But embroidering on paper requires more of that priceless asset.

Which is why gifting a piece like this says I love you like only endless hours can.
